The Park has a well-defined tourism zone. Most of the visitors are local residents. A few foreign tourists also visit the Park. The contribution of the Park in terms of revenue earnings is scanty. But a good scope exists for tapping the potential of the Park as a good tourist destination.
There are 11 Eco-Development Committees (EDCs) around the Park. Certain community welfare measures were undertaken in all EDCs during 2009-10 to earn their goodwill towards wildlife conservation. However, no works could be taken thereafter owing to lack of financial resources at the disposal of the Park which is creating a feeling of alienation among the fringe communities
